Locating Affordable Rental Housing

Ongoing Rent Assistance

Flagler County Housing Authority has some public housing units and vouchers (commonly referred to as “Section 8” that includes Housing Choice, Mainstream Vouchers, HUD-VASH)

Emergency Assistance with Rent/Utilities

Flagler County Human Services provides emergency assistance services to low-income, eligible residents, including:

Volusia Flagler County Coalition for the Homeless has some funding for homeless prevention when a very low-income household is facing eviction. Call 386-279-0029 or 386-236-9710 for assistance.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Assistance with Rent or utilities, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  4600 Belle Terre Pkwy,  Palm Coast, FL 32164, 386-597-4144.  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

St. Vincent de Paul Society. Assistance with Utilities, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  400 S. Daytona Ave, Flagler Bch, FL 32136, 386-693-4806.  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Northeast Florida Community Action Agency (NFCAA) Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Help with FPL. Flagler County Senior Services Elderly Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP)—FPL help for eligible Flagler County seniors 60 and up. 1000 Belle Terre Boulevard  Palm Coast, FL 32164 386-586-2324 Ext. 3625

Emergency Shelters

Family Life Center operates a shelter in Flagler County for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, among other services. flcfv.org/services or call the hotline at 386-437-3505

COLD WEATHER SHELTER ONLY.  Sheltering Tree.   Over-night shelter providing dinner and breakfast when temperatures drop to 40 or below.   Church on the Rock 2200 N State Street, Bunnell, FL 32110, Flaglershelteringtree@yahoo.com,  386-437-3258 Ext. 105

Halifax Urban Ministries. Hope Place and Barracks of Hope Emergency Shelters

Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, Bridge Program, Emergency shelter for adults.

The Inn Ministry.  Pregnant women and women with small children.  Visit https://www.innministry.org/appointments for an appointment. 

First Step Shelter. Emergency Shelter for adults in Volusia County.  Call 386-361-3800 for information.

Transitional Housing.

All transitional housing is located in surrounding counties.  Each has its own eligibility criteria and application process and likely has waiting lists.
